Everything. Everyone has their own point of view, way of thinking, experiences, and lessons they’ve learned. There might be similarities between people; but each person is unique. No two people are the same.
Everything makes a person unique, and deserving of respect.
In Buddhism people bow to each other and to life in general. This is based upon the knowledge that each being (plant, animal or human) is sacred and a ‘representative’ of the eternal (god) and thus when meeting another it is customary to bring the opposites together (hands together) and to bow in respect to the other. No thing is better than any other thing and all deserve respect. That doesn’t mean there are not bad people doing bad things in the world so as they say ‘trust in god but tie your camel’.
